IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SEPTEMBER AT NLCCUMC

September is one of the most exciting months in the life of the church. It is a month that marks the re-gathering of all the saints after a long awaited summer of great weather, rest and fun. The recent tradition of our church has been to end our final combined 9:30 a.m. service with a special tribute and remembrance of 9-11 and a spectacular church barbeque/picnic on the church lawn put together by our great Men’s Ministry.

Remember that this year’s September 11th service held on Sunday, September 10th will have United States Navy Chaplain Commander Dale C. White as our guest speaker. You may remember that we supported Cmdr. White and his Marines when he was stationed in Fallujah, Iraq for one year. Our church was able to send hundreds of pounds of supplies for the Marines and toys to the children of Fallujah. Make certain to mark your calendars and invite a friend to come out.

Other programs beginning in September are our new worship service times starting on Sunday, September 17. Our 8 a.m. service moves to 9 a.m. and our 10:30 a.m. service moves to 11:00 a.m. It is our hope that as a result of delaying our early service by one hour many new families will join the early worship service thus seeing an increase in our attendance. Several young families with children commented that they could not get their families ready for the 8 a.m. service, but would still like to attend the traditional service. Our new 9 a.m. start has found great favor with these families. Thank you to everyone for your willingness to adjust to the new time schedule.

The Women’s Thursday morning meetings will host the great ALPHA program led by myself and Myong Cha. This is going to be a huge success. Pastor Joe and Amanda have a great Children’s Sunday School program set for all of our young people—not to mention wonderful adult Sunday School held at the same time which will be 10:15 to 10:55 each Sunday morning.

Our healing ministry will offer both Level I and Level III sessions starting in September. Make sure you take a look at the information contained in this bulletin. Also take a look at other events and information that will prove to be interesting as you organize your fall Church schedule.

Lastly, I wish to mention that our church has always been a giving and generous church. However, it was reported at our last board meeting that our financial giving is considerably down. I humbly ask that each of you consider increasing your financial giving to our church. I would pray that each of us are tithing, which is a biblical mandate for the believing Christian. I sincerely ask that you take a look at your present giving and prayerfully consider how much you are contributing and think about increasing your giving. We are doing much through our ministry and need everyone’s help.

I am so excited about September; I hope you are too. See you in Church.

Blessed to be in ministry with you—I remain in Christ,

Rev. Dr. Charles Ferrara
